MT and Nothmann Family Collection, 1978 say he was born on 12/03/1786 and died on 05/05/1847, whereas Friedrich Nothmann, quoting his gravestone in "Die Geschichte der Familie Nothmann", says he was born in 1788 and died on 12/03/1847 aged 58 years. JRI-Poland, citing the original death record, gives his death on 14/03/1847, aged 58 years.



Described as a leather trader at the birth of Pine, and as a butcher at the birth of Henriette, he is also described as HaCohen (the priest) on his son Simon's gravestone.

JRI-Poland lists a son, Jochem, born 15/03/1836; this date is incompatible with the birth of his sibling Heimann. Heimann's birth is not recorded in JRI-Poland or in the Gleiwitz Jewish birth records but is dated as 20/02/1836 by his son Berthold.



JRI-Poland records the family's moves from Potempa to Wuestenhammer, Lublinitz on 01/04/1824 and back to Potempa exactly three years later. These records name Salomon's father and wife as Schaye Loebel Nothmann and Amalie Brieger respectively, and name the accompanying children. His father's family number 2507 is cited.
