Notes

One of triplets, along with Wolf and Reisel. MT, citing Michael Liebermann, gives their date of birth as 29/04/1823 whereas JRI-Poland gives 22/05/1823. The birth record clearly lists "Salomon + Wolf +" in the "boy" column and "Reisel" in the girl column.

Trader of Tworog when he married in 1861; described as a former master butcher when he died.

The JRI-Poland 1861 record of the marriage of Salomon Wolf Nothmann to Jeanette Hammer gives his age as 38 years, so he was born 1822-23, agreeing with the record of his birth to Loebel and Charlotte. Given his age when he married in 1861, it is possible that he had been previously married. The second name, Wolf, may be a memorialisation of his brother; it is unlikely to be a patronym as I have not found any record of a Wolf Nothmann in the previous generation.

His death certificate names his wife as Jeanette Hammer. His death was reported by his daughter-in-law Leni geb. Pinter who gave his age as 90 years; this was probably a guess, and does not preclude his birth in 1823 (meaning he would have died aged 83 years). Nor does it preclude the possibility that the certificate (and therefore the wife and son Max) refer instead to his namesake.

His second name Wolf is taken from JRI-Poland marriage record.
