Richard's wife is described as a widow in a Yad Vashem testimonial to her deportation to Auschwitz concentration camp.
His marriage certificate gives his residence as Kattowitz. The 1914 Kattowitz address book lists a Richard Apt, businessman, at Holtzestrasse 35.
The Breslau synagogue community address list (ca 1930) includes Richard and Selma Apt geb. Rosenbaum at Freiburgerstrasse 32 and gives his date of birth, which agrees with that recorded in the birth registry entry and marriage certificate.
A list of schoolchildren includes two of Richard's (at the same address: Freiburgerstrasse 32) and gives their dates of birth (entries 663 and 664).
