The 1905 address book describes her as a Kaufmannsfrau of Schuetzenstrasse, 4 and owner of a Konfitueren und Teehandlung (jam and tea) business trading as "J Pese" at the same address (named as Jacques Pese in the 1914 address book). Address books for 1907, 1912, 1913, 1914 and 1924 have similar entries. The 1914 Upper Silesia business directory lists Rosa Danziger geb. Schlesinger as the owner of the J. Pese jams business. A descendant recalls that she was in business with two cousins in a women's clothing business. The 1924 address book has entries for a Rosa Danziger as the owner of a women's clothing business at Nikolaistrasse, 26; the entry for this address lists three Danzigers: Rosa, Herta and Marg. The 1939 census of Gleiwitz lists her at Kirschstrasse 2, a Jewish old people's home. Rosa was deported from Gleiwitz to Auschwitz concentration camp on 20.05.1942 (note: some of the deportation records erroneously record her year of birth as 1889 instead of 1869).
