Kaethe Danziger (geb. Halberstaedter) gives him the title of Doctor and notes that he was in England.

An Ernst Mautner, born 1898, is included in this list of cases documented by the British Committe For Refugees From Czechoslovakia and the Czech Refugee Trust Fund, citing files HO 294/612 and HO 294/613 at the Public Record Office in Kew, London. A person with his wife's name and year of birth also appears in the list, as does a person with his stepdaughter's name and year of birth.

An Ernst Mautner in England is also mentioned in this 1945 letter from Bedrich Hellmann, a Czech inmate of Birkenau, as is a Mrs Mautner (Ernst's mother?) who had been transported east from Teresin by 1943.
