Adolf emigrated to Australia, arriving in Sydney in July 1858 aged 26 years; a record of his arrival gives his nationality as British. A transcript of the record adds a note that he was naturalised in 1862.

Kaethe Danziger (geb. Halberstaedter)’s "Louis Halberstaedter" notes document Adolf's children and grandchildren to some extent; however Terry Kinscher’s family tree gives a far more comprehensive survey of the Australian descendants.

Terry Kinscher’s family tree gives Adolf's date of birth as late 1831, possibly calculated from details on his death certificate. KH's notes show an unnamed brother also emigrating to Australia; Terry does not mention this brother.

Fred Halbers says that Adolf married an Irish Catholic.
