Listed in the 1939 census of Hindenburg as Kurt Nothmann and living with his mother listed as Lina Hecht geb. Nothmann and his brother Georg Hecht. Both Georg and Kurt were born after Lina's marriage to Isaac Hecht, so it is unclear why Kurt was using his mother's maiden name; it is possible that Isaac is not his father.
