His parents are unknown. Israel and Zlotte are the only Staubs known to me in the right place as the right time, but their family number, 107, is different from that given to Jacob and his sons (106).



According to Delowicz, the family moved from Berun, Kries Pless to Sohrau on 16.12.1821; Delowicz lists all the children except Eva and Rachel, who may well have been married by then, and Lotte. (Rachel's omission is surprising as the Pless family register notes that she married in Sohrau.) The Pless family register does not mention this move, and continues to record family events until 1843.
