Notes

His parents' marriage certificate notes the birth of a son in Berlin Zehlendorf in 1936. The 1939 census of Berlin lists Heinz Josef born 31/08/1936 living with Ernst and Ilse. A Yad Vashem testimonial gives the same date of birth.

Ilse, Ernst and Heinz-Josef are listed in the 1939 census of Berlin at Königstrasse 29. They were deported from Berlin to Riga on 19/10/1942 and murdered on arrival.
