According to her husband's death certificate, she was born Wartenberger, and her adoptive family name was Alsmann. On this basis she may be the daughter of Joseph Wartenburger and Marianne geb. Roth, born in 1818. Following Joseph' death Marianne married the widower Jacob Alschmann in 1826.
