William's parents are named on his 1865 birth certificate as Robert Edward Crosby, master boot and shoe maker of 7 Back Hopper Street and Isabell Elizabeth Crosby formerly Watson.

The 1871 census shows Robert E Crosby, unemployed boot maker aged 37y living at 10 Back Hopper Street with his father, also Robert.

As far as I know, this family is not related to mine.
