The JRI-Poland Myslowitz record of the birth of Bertha Schalscher names her parents as the unmarried couple Jonas Pik and Rosel Handel Schalscher, noting that their relationship was legitimised on 27/07/1868. JRI-Poland also lists the Myslowitz record of the marriage of Joseph Pik and Rosel Handel Schalscher on 27/07/1868; Joseph's parents are not named but his age is given as 45 years so he was born 1822-23. The genealodzy.pl record of the 1891 marriage of Selma Pick names her parents as Jonas and Rosel geb. Schalscha. Clearly, these three records all relate to the same couple, with two of them naming the husband as "Jonas" and one, probably erroneously, as "Joseph".

I have tentatively equated the son of Samuel and the husband of Rosel based on
- their matching ages;
- the geographical proximity of Peiskretscham and Myslowitz;
- the fact that I have found no other records for a contemporary Jonas in the area.
