Erich and Margot are listed in the Breslau synagogue community address list (ca 1930) at Neudorfstrasse 116, an address shared with Joseph Nothmann and his wife Adele.

In the 1939 census of Breslau, Margot is listed with her parents at Trinitaatstrasse 5, while Erich is listed with his parents at Kreuzburgerstrasse 9. It is not clear whether their separation at this time was due to a divorce.



In 1939 Erich fled to Shanghai. At some point he married Frieda Nothmann geb. Benjamin, the widow of Margot's brother Georg Nothmann; subsequently, in 1947 Erich, Frieda and her son by her previous marriage, Alfred Nothmann, emigrated from Shanghai to the Dominican Republic.
