Mayer's family number, 3022, occurs in records of several movements of Joachim and Jacob; these records name their father as Mayer. A record of the movement of Mayer, his wife Franzel and his son Samuel in 1832 from Gross-Dubensko, Rybnik to Kieferstaedtel gives the family number 3092 - a likely transcription error.

A Mayer Schindler, timber merchant of Kieferstaedtel, is named as the father of Samuel Schindler when he married Dorel Bettsack in 1835; the record names Samuel's mother as Franziska. Samuel named his son born in 1839 after his father.
