The 1939 census of Beuthen places Hugo at Günter-Wolf-Str. 6; Gertrud's death certificate gives the same address. Also at this address in the 1939 census were:
- Gertrud geb. Seidler, Hugo's wife,
- Ruth Kamm, assumed to be their daughter,
- Edith Risenfeld geb. Kamm, their daughter,
- Guenther Risenfeld, assumed to be Edith's husband,
- Judis (Judith) Risenfeld, assumed to be Edith and Guenther's daughter.

Hugo was deported in 1942.
