Hans was arrested in Berlin in February 1943 and transported to Auschwitz concentration camp but survived. The record of his faorced labour names his wife as Elisabeth geb. Knopf. In 1947 a Hans Boss aged 40 years accompanied by an Ilse Boss aged 41 year sailed from Berlin to San Francisco.
