JRI-Poland has two records relating to a son of Wolf Majud and Charlotte geb. Muenzer born on 15/11/1828:
  • the record of his family's arrival in Bitschin in 1844 names him Julius
  • the record of his marriage names him as Pincus
It is likely that Julius (German) and Pincus (Hebrew) refer to the same person.

The records of his children's births name him as Philipp (which is a better German cognate for Pincus than Julius). It is possible that he used the vernacular names Julius and Philipp interchangeably; otherwise Julius and Philipp must have been twins, but I have found no records that suggest they were two distinct people.

Julius's death certificate places his birth in 1830-31, a couple of years later than the date of birth given for Julius in the record of the family's move in 1844, but such errors in ascertaining or estimating the age of the deceased were not unusual at that time.
