Seraphine died aged 26 years; her death certificate names her parents as Simon Nothmann and Friedericke Riesenfeld.


Seraphine is equated to Sara, the mother of Siegfried for the following reasons:
1. Siegfried's birth certificate (which names his parents as Louis Neumann and Sara geb. Nothmann) gives Louis' profession as Kuerschnermeister; Seraphine's death certificate and the announcement of her marriage to Louis ascribe him the same profession.
2. Seraphine's death certificate places her in Cosel in 1882. Siegfried was born there in 1881. The "Cosel" in question is today's Kozanow, a suburb of Breslau, as opposed to Cosel (Kozle) in Opole Voivodeship; this is clarified by Siegfried's death certificate which places his parents' last residence in Breslau, and by Siegfried's marriage certificate which places his birth in "Cosel in Upper Silesia".
