John Henry Bunton
| Notes Baptised at St Dunstan's Church, Stepney, London on 25.06.1837. Merchant seaman (which probably explains his absence from the 1871 census - see Hannah's page); A John Bunton, aged 24 and born in North Shields, is listed in the 1861 census of British Ships In Home Ports. Later "painter" at 1881 census and when his children John and Catherine married (1887 and 1889) and son Henry died (April 1894); "coal hawker" when Hannah died (1894) and "house painter journeyman" when he died. 1881 census: 7 Matlock St, Bishopwearmouth:
1894: Hannah died at 11 Gill Bridge Avenue (their eldest son lived at 21 Gill Bridge Avenue). Cause of death: "Nephritis syncope"; interred at Bishopwearmouth cemetery 03.07.1899 His death certificate gives an age of 61y; however his christening date and his 43y age at the 1881 census would make him 62y when he died. My 2 x great grandfather. Sources (click here for generic source information) |
