Described in his son Louis's death certificate as a wine merchant. Assumed to be a son of Loebel because both came from the Rybnik / Ratibor area and both were wine merchants. One of Wilhelm's children married a Henschel, as did two of the Haase family, descendants of Loebel's brother. Loebel was the first in his family to adopt the Traube surname, and was unlikely to adopt a name already in use in the area.
