Frederick's 1895 marriage certificate describes him as a widower, so Rose died between the 1891 census and November 1895. The death of a Rose Robinson aged 31 was registered in Manchester in 1891 Q2 (volume 8d page 263); if this is the same person, her death may have been a consequence of the birth of her daughter Bertha, who was a month old at the time of the 1891 census; Bertha does not appear, and Frederick has re-married, in the 1901 census.
