In the 1939 census of Berlin Marie is listed at Claudiusstrasse 3, an address she shared with her presumed mother. She is given the title Doctor and was educated at the Universities of Berlin, Munich, Freiburg and Heidelberg.

Marie committed suicide by gas poising in the face of Nazi persecution. The same address appears on her death certificate.
