I have tentatively ascribed Walter to his parents on the basis of the following:
- his mother's maiden name is given in his death record as Nothman (sic);
- his birth in Gross Strehlitz in 1897 is consistent with his proposed parents' marriage there in 1895;
- Walter arrived in the USA from England in 1940, and his proposed mother is Gerhard Nothmann's aunt; Gerhard's US Declaration of Intention says that he stayed with his cousin Walter Perl in England en route to the USA in 1939.
- Walter's UK Exemption from Internment record gives the same date and place of birth as his death record and US Declaration of Intention, and the same address as that given by his proposed cousin Gerhard Nothmann.
