Birth record

Alois was probably Catholic: of his children, Wilhelm' marriage certificate describes him as "altkatholisher while Olga's and Georg's describe them as katholisher. His wife Philippine's religion is not known, but her sister Friederike is described as Jewish in her death certificate, suggesting that her parents were Jewish, and so Philippine was Jewish by birth. None of their children is listed in the 1939 census of Jewish residents, nor in Yad Vashem's records. Olga's 1940 death certificate does not add the name "Sara" which was ascribed to all Jewish females under the Nazi regime, so it is likely she was not deemed Jewish, despite her presumed Jewish maternal grandparents. Georg is described as Lutheran

Alois and Philippine were both living in Kattowitz at the time of Wilhelm's 1916 marriage. They were both dead by the time of Georg's 1919 marriage.
