In the 1939 census of Berlin Paula and her daughter Elfriede are listed at Koepenicker Strasse 26. Paula's fate is uncertain; although her late husband was of Jewish stock the source indicates that she had no Jewish grandparents and Elfriede was baptised in infancy, and so she may have survived the Holocaust.
