Elizabeth's first name is confirmed by the 1871 census and also fits with one of two brides whose marriage were registered in Auckland in the same quarter as Frederick's; her surname is taken from this marriage record. However, a handwritten tree drawn up by her grandson Fred Marshall shows her as "Jane"; this may have been her preferred name.
